2019 SmokeOff Festival

The 2019 Cittaslow Goolwa Smoke Off Festival will be held on Sunday 3 November 2019 on the RSL Goolwa lawns from 11 am to 4 pm. Entry to this great event is FREE!

The Festival includes the annual Smoke Off competition, tastings and sales from major Langhorne Creek wineries, plenty of great food from local food producers and, of course, marvelous music from top local band Matt and the Maniacs.

Langhorne Creek wineries - Bleasdale Vineyards, Fabal Vineyard Road Wines, Karrawatta Wines, Next Crop Wines and more. Enjoy the vast variety of food choices including Goolwa Cittaslow smoked ham sliders, locally made condiments and preserves, Big Mahalo hotdogs, The Goods hamburgers, Urban Edibles pizzas. Fleurieu Icecream & FroYo, Granny Smiths spiral apples, and Let there be coffee!

The Smoke Off competition involves teams of local people who, using BBQs or other devices, smoke hams or other foods in a competition that is judged by local personalities. The teams judged as having the best smoked food are awarded prizes and trophies. In addition, some teams adopt a particular theme, set up colourfully decorated marquees and dress in appropriate costumes in support of those themes. The team that does it best is also in line for prizes!
